Great Quote From a Friend

My friend Dave said this to me a few minutes ago, and I felt it was great, worth posting for sure.

"God has no moral basis, allowing the corrupt to prosper. While those with dignity and morality are left to defend themselves against odds far beyond what should be faced. Those who do not see this are either blind or too naive to acknowledge reality for how it truly functions. May he be held responsible for the lives that he has failed to save and those he's embellished, who are not worthy.  If I am doomed to hell through his flawed judgement, so be it. I will no longer shake upon the thought."

  1. Not all with power are corrupt, and not all people aren't humble in their lowered positions.
Satan's the one with free reign on this earth, not God.
Those who think there are odds against them that are beyond what 'should' be faced, then they are also blind to reality. There is no 'should' but what could. It can always be worse.
May everyone be held responsible for their own life that they failed to save, for we are all not worthy to even have a chance at salvation.

*Not the point. the point is that the corrupt CAN prosper. that doesn't seem right.

Satan's the one with free reign on this earth, not God.

*So god has no control, and cant stop satan if he wants?

Those who think there are odds against them that are beyond what 'should' be faced, then they are also blind to reality. There is no 'should' but what could. It can always be worse.

*It is far worse in this world than any truly loving god would allow.

  3. And the corrupt can fall as well as the "uncorrupt" rise. And what's all this "doesn't seem right" stuff? Where's your open eyes to reality now? Free will, not a God's hand leads to all this. And if you want a God's hand so badly, why do you swat it away?

The prince of this earth is not the King. He has power, but not all of it.
If you've heard the stories or read the Bible, you'll know that Satan made a sort of deal with God, that he could turn all of Adam and Eve's offspring away from Him.
    2 Corinthians 4:4
The god of the (fallen) earth, Satan. The God of all is the Lord.

A truly loving God would allow it to those who are not truly loving to Him. Only arrogance and sin will keep you from God.

*Yes. Good CAN happen, but the point is that evil happens, and that evil does not mesh with the idea of a loving god.

And what's all this "doesn't seem right" stuff? Where's your open eyes to reality now?
*I am living in reality, by acknowledging that there is no loving god. My point was that a loving god could not allow the evil of this world. Either there is no god, or he exists, but is evil.

Free will, not a God's hand leads to all this.

*I agree, because there is no god. If there were a god, even his sitting back and letting free will happen would be a sign of him promoting the violence by doing nothing to stop it.

And if you want a God's hand so badly, why do you swat it away?
*I don't want a god's hand. Im merely pointing out the problem in believing in a loving god in a world so full of evil.

so you are saying God lets people suffer because he likes to take on bets. wow that is ridiculous and by the way most atheists have read the bible more thoroughly than Christians and can see all the bullshit in it.

  6. I never said Atheists haven't read the Bible. I definitely agree that most of them have read into it more than Christians and Catholics alike. Even I haven't read it as much as I'd want to.
And it's because of that free will thing that He would let this happen. It is our choice to see the truth or to stay with sin. God is not playing some game, he is letting us live our lives with a choice of turning away or staying with Him. I'm sorry that you're not willing to at least keep an open mind on how most people can understand our view point. It's obvious how you can understand yours.

You say you don't want a god's hand because you don't see how a 'loving' one could exist? You have to accept Him into your heart and mind to truly have Him. Not this casual glance at others in poverty or paradise based on society's and your own moral judgment on how 'deserving' they are. No one deserves, but God is still there waiting for you.

  7. I remember a few days ago when my mother told me that, "Satan has free reign on Earth, not God."

I said, "Well, who let him have free reign?!"

"God did. But God's coming to take it back someday."

"God sounds like he's playing around with us for his own amusement. Jerk."

I got a nasty look for that one. LOL XP

  8. Check out my blog to see a nice list of all of the reasons Christians give for evil. I found it on another blog and reposted inspired by anonymous because he or she used the same arguments.

  9. I checked out the excuses like you mentioned. I'm just saying right now, no, I know I do not understand everything about everything, and even you could probably guess that. I could guess you don't entirely know either (with a cut and paste routine), but who does know anything anymore, right? Number two! I am not full blown, eat and breathe the Bible, Christian. I am just Christian doing the best I can with what I have learned morally. I don't feel I need to make people believe our point of view, I feel that I should allow people to understand why we would believe our point of view with out having to be chastised on how "stupid" or "contradictary" our point of view is just because you haven't experienced it the same way or decided to look at the contradictions of your own point of view. Sadly, most people haven't even done that.
I can understand an atheist's point of view because it makes sense. No visual proof anywhere of God's presence as the world is falling apart, and a Bible only authenticated because it was old enough to match the time stories and such. Am I slightly right? Just as much sense as Christianity (to me), but it hasn't clicked for me like my own religion has. I'm just gonna go through it bit by bit. Most of these were a little... pointless to mention and repetetive...

    1) The greater good with a hint of evil to finish the plan... I am indifferent on this. I don't know God's plan with the world today. It seems we have our own plans with it.
    2) Genesis takes care of the question on why aren't we always healthy.
    3) Punish because of our ancestors? Is this about the being born into sin?
    4)mentioned it
    6) You haven't heard it because no one would bring that up as an "excuse."
7, 9-11 & 13) confuses me... who would use these as arguments? Even my church mentioned that evil isn't the only way to have fun. lol, it's funny anyone would use these. You! Sit on that couch and do nothing and you'll go to heaven... nice...
    8) evil does not equal God, come on now. That's not even what August mentioned.
    14) God doesn't make people like Him, you have to do that yourself
    15) How is He torturing us? Isn't most of this stuff human's fault anyways?
